Oh where do I start? Well short version. First I lost power. This caused my ISP to assign a new IP to my router. Since I am a resident customer this is not unexpected. What was unexpected is that my Cloudflare API token somehow got broken and thus did not update my DNS records. Ok no big deal right? I’ll just go into my dashboard and… oh no none of my two factor tokens are working. Oh no I don’t have any of the devices that I initially registered. Oh no, I didn’t look hard enough for recovery documentation. Alright, that one is on me. Still, if I didn’t have that I can tell you support did almost nothing to help me with my access situation. It took over a month to try most of the recovery options I had before the support person to just spit out a support document that I started with int he first place.
Honestly, I could rant about this and likely with to my poor unsuspecting wife who will at times think I am speaking a different language, but will just sit and let me rant. I just won’t here. I am back and I am going to continue to work on this site. I think my next step will be setting up a CA so I can stop seeing those self signed certificates once and for all. Also, might go ahead and help out the ACA with some of their certs. it does feel good to be back!
